About NEW YORK POLICE CHIEF’S FOUNDATION
Our Mission
Every year the New York Police Chiefs Foundation helps solve crimes statewide. Our goal is to help make our communities safer, and we work together with police, media, the business community and the public to that end.
It is our mission to reduce crime in the great state of New York.
Our Mission
Our efforts in working together with New York State Crime Stoppers to act as a resource for Federal, State, County and local law enforcement by offering monetary rewards for information regarding particular crimes makes our state a safer place.
We engage the public and empower private citizens throughout New York State by providing them with the means to anonymously supply information they may have regarding criminal activity or wanted fugitives and reward them should their information lead to arrest and conviction.
Information is what fuels criminal investigations, and we work with the public and the law enforcement community to help provide the information needed to solve violent crime and make New York communities safe.
How does it work?
Participating police agencies throughout New York State contact Crime Stoppers why they need assistance in solving a particular crime or recovering a particular fugitive. New York State Crime Stoppers targets that particular crime or focuses on that particular fugitive by issuing press releases and flyers offering a reward for anonymous information that leads to the arrest of the fugitive being sought or the indictment of the suspect believed to be responsible for the crime. If an anonymous tip received at out hotline: 866-313-TIPS (8477) leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator, the caller who provided the anonymous tip becomes eligible for the reward offered.
